Fusion of an art museum and a hotel

Nao Island is a small island in the Seto Inland Sea, full of artistic factors, such as Benesse House, Chichu Art Museum, and the Art House Project. Benesse House is central to the island of art, serving as an art museum and a hotel.
The art museum owns about 350 artworks mainly contemporary art. There are pieces inspired by the nature of Nao Island that are displayed outdoors. The hotel consists of four sections: Museum that is built within the art museum; Oval on a hill accessed by a monorail; Park where a restaurant and a spa have been built as annexes with artwork in the areas exclusive to hotel guests; and Beach situated just in front of the beach. All were designed by Tadao Ando, and the architecture itself is like a work of art.
