Nagasaki

Nagasaki is located in the western part of Kyushu and faces the Easter China Sea in the west, the Tsushima Strait in the north and Saga prefecture in the east. The ria coastline creates a complicated landform with many islands in the open sea such as Iki, Tsushima and the Goto Islands. The area has a relatively warm climate due to the warm currents, but also experiences many typhoons.

A taste of foreign lands in the buildings and culture
Nagasaki has a long history of trade with Asia, and during the nation\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s period of isolation, the port of Nagasaki began trading with Portugal in 1571, opening Japan to Western and Asian cultures.
To this day, strong influences of foreign cultures remain in the lifestyle, cuisine and the cityscape.
Longest coastline and the ria coastline
Nagasaki has the most islands in the nation, and has the longest coastline as well.
There are 971 islands of which 73 are inhabited.
