The Noto Peninsula which jets out into the Sea of Japan is located in the northern region of Ishikawa prefecture, and is very humid with a relatively warm climate, characteristic of the Tsushima climate.
The Hakusan region to the southeast is a mountainous terrain, with the sacred mountains of Hakusan. The Kanazawa Plains, formed by the many rivers flowing from these mountains, spreads out to the Sea of Japan.
