”KAI Aso” is located in Senomoto Onsen on the border of Oita and Kumamoto prefectures. It is a designer ”ryokan” overlooking the prairie spreading across Aso-Gogaku mountains and the outer rim of the crater. On a clear day, one can view ”Nehan-zo,” the peaks that look like Buddha lying down. There are only twelve guest rooms on the 27,000 ㎡ property, and since each guest house is detached, guests will be able to enjoy true luxury, as if they have the ”ryokan” all to themselves.
All rooms have their own outdoor bath and indoor jacuzzi. Guests can either relax while enjoying nature, or immerse themselves in the jacuzzi. High quality bed linens and duvet have been specially selected from Crossense of Ginza, Tokyo and are so comfortable you are sure to enjoy a good night’s sleep.
Six leading creators who are active both in Japan and abroad, devoted their heart and soul to produce this facility from its interior to decor and staff uniforms. Dynamic yet delicate meals are served in a conventional full course style rather than ”kaiseki” or creative cuisine.
