A short distance from the town center of Yufuin, Murata is an inn made up of individual cottages where you can spend time in tranquility. There are twelve guest rooms in the eight buildings, a mixture of new buildings and traditional Japanese homes which were relocated from other areas in Japan. Each guest room has furniture and art that mixes the old with the new, western and Japanese, to create a relaxing ambience. The layout of the room, bathing area, furniture and decorations are all carefully coordinated, giving unique charm to each unit. Guests will enjoy a tranquil moment listening to the birds and the leaves rustling in the wind.
Nearby there are eateries produced by Murata, as well as a bar, chocolate shop, and gift shop. We treated ourselves to fluffy swiss rolls and high quality chocolate. Its understandable why Murata is very popular with women. The lounge ”Tan’s bar” serves coffee and cake during the day, and over 270 kinds of liquor at night, so guests can enjoy the mountain view as they spend a moment of sophistication.
