A hotel in a Japanese garden
Ryotei Hanzuiryo stands amongst the magnificent nature of Unzen in Nagasaki Prefecture, which is the first national park in Japan. In the vast grounds of nearly 2 hectares, the hotel has only 14 guest rooms, each of which has a view over the Japanese garden which expresses the beauty of the four seasons of Unzen.
The guest room buildings, which took three years to build, were constructed by carpenters specializing in ”sukiya-zukuri” style, and it is an embodiment of the very best of Japanese traditional architecture. It is such a luxury to enjoy the traditional Japanese ”kaiseki” cuisine, while viewing the Japanese garden.
Unzen, the village of hot spring, provides the large baths with fresh hot spring water directly from the source. Also, every guest room is equipped with a private indoor bath, with a bathtub made of cypress, so you can relax to your heart’s content.
