Food, Safe and Secure

Originally a part-time farmer, Seiichi Koshi retired as a teacher in 2004 and became a full-time farmer. Several years before becoming full-time, he had always been interested in food safety and had started participating in study meetings and began conducting his own agricultural trial tests. When he turned full time, he first applied as an ”eco-friendly farmer” His passion was to deliver safe food that he raised. Currently he makes rice and a dozen other types of vegetables, which he grows from seeds and the compost he uses are also hand-made. The ingredients for the compost are dead leaves, rice husks, rice bran, and crab shells.

Practicing Pyrrole Agricultural Method

Soil amelioration is also done by himself by way of ”Pyrrole Agricultural Method” The method uses a pyrrole soil improver agent to increase cyanobacteria which enables the production of high-mineral produce. Cyanobacteria dissembles dioxin and cadmium and adjusts the pH environment thus also will be measures against acid rain. For pest measures, diluted 70 to 100 times pyroligneous acid (with garlic and hot chili pepper extract) is sprayed. Safety is what concerns Koshi the most. Koshi offered us grilled flattened brown rice to taste. The moment it was in the mouth, the sweetness of the rice spreads instantly. Because it is so simple you can taste its true flavor. Koshi’s rice and vegetables are extremely popular as he balances out the compatibility of taste and safety in its creation. Although he cannot mass produce, his vegetables are extremely popular and receives massive orders.
