A well established Japanese confectionary store founded in Omagari Senkita Akita during the Edo period, Tsujiya has been making traditional confectionery “tofu kamaboko” “tofu castela“ “sanbaimochi” over 5 generations, for more than 130 years. ”Tofu kamaboko” is made by steaming a mixture of tofu and white fish meat into a dome-shape and in fact not so sweet, and is often served as an accompaniment to tea and at ceremonial occasions, and has been a local favorite for a long time. -

Osarizawa mining site is said to have been discovered in the year 708, during the Nara period.
