FOOD Akita
Soba “Inaho”
A restaurant where you can casually enjoy Hinai Jidori chicken and soba noodles. Hinai Jidori chicken, an Akita specialty, is used in abundance in dishes such as oyako-don (chicken and egg bowl) and Hinai Jidori soba (buckwheat noodles). The specialty, Hinai Jidori oyakodon, is a bowl of rice topped with tender Hinai Jidori chicken and a tender egg that is exquisitely intertwined with the sweet and spicy sauce. The Hinai Jidori soba (buckwheat noodle) also has a deep flavor with the delicious taste of Hinai Jidori chicken soaking into the sauce. At night, the restaurant is an izakaya where you can enjoy a la carte dishes of Hinai Jidori chicken, yakitori, and Akita's local sake. If you visit Akita, be sure to visit there. -
Restaurant Yamaguchi
Izakaya “Maru”
A creative izakaya that makes the most of Hagi's local ingredients. The owner, Mr. Koiwai, has not only taken over “using Hagi ingredients” from his parents, but has also been working on innovation by using different and rare Hagi ingredients. Furthermore, concerned about the loss of Hagi's vitality, he started a "late-night" diner. He is working on developing a menu with the hope that "people will enjoy their food using ingredients that are gentle on the body, and that they will not be left with alcohol the next day after drinking it". Hagi's local sake is also available, so be sure to stop by. -
