One of three great morning markets in Japan, Yobuko Morning Market

The usual menu in the morning is ”squid”

One of the three greatest morning markets, ”Yobuko Morning Market”, started in the early Taisho era. In the beginning, they opened a small market when they caught fish, but as the market became busy, more people started to come. By 7:30 in the morning, the market is filled with people carrying fish and displaying vegetables, and many shops line the area. In the approximately 200 meter long street, many tourists and customers visit through noon.
Yobuko is famous for good tasting squid. When you drive through, you see squid being dried in many places. There were many one night dried squids being sold at the morning market, Dried fish is one of Yobuko’s specialties. There are also shops which prepare and serve fresh squid as sashimi. We recommend you enjoy a leisurely morning walk browsing the shops.
